Buy the Chi-Town Chinos sewing pattern from Alina Sewing and Design Co. This shorts and skirt pattern is inspired by the classic relaxed pant silhouette commonly referred to today as chinos. The Chi-Town Chinos pattern is mid-rise, easy-fitting and straight through the hip and leg. The waistband is faced, maintaining a clean finish. With four different back pocket options, a shorts option, a skirt option, and options to lengthen or shorten both, this pattern is a handmade summer wardrobe staple.

Note: Two expansion packs (sold separately) are available for the Chi-Town Chinos. Use the Chi-Town Chinos pattern plus  to make fitted, knee-length shorts with back welt pockets. Use the Chi-Town Chinos pattern plus  to make semi-fitted, full-length pants with back welt pockets.

Suggested fabrics: Medium weight woven fabrics, such as cotton twill, chambray, denim, linen, linen blends or wool blends.

Fabric requirements: Directional prints such as plaids or stripes may require additional fabric.

54″ (137 cm) wide fabric: View A, 1 - 1 1/4 yd (0.9 - 1.2 m) // View B, 1 1/8 - 1 1/2 yd (1 - 1.4 m).

45″ (114 cm) wide fabric: View A, 1 1/4 - 1 5/8 yd (1.2 - 1.5 m) // View B, 1 3/8 - 1 5/8 yd (1.3 - 1.5 m).

Sizing: 0 – 18 (approx. UK 6 – 18, based on our ). Please also check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.

Notions: Thread; 6" plastic coil zipper; hook-and-bar closure or 3/4" button for waistband; two 5/8" buttons for back pocket flaps (optional); 1/8 yd of fusible interfacing; 3/8 yd of quilting cotton. If you choose to finish the waistband facing and fly shield with bias binding, you will need 1/4"-wide double fold bias tape equal to your hip measurement 6".
